IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM NATIONAL GRID REGARDING GAS UPGRADE PROJECT IN MALVERNE

Project Limits: Village of Malverne

1)         Rider Avenue from Hempstead Avenue to Ocean Avenue.
2)         Cambridge Street from Rider Avenue to Alden Court.
3)         Hempstead Avenue from Rider Avenue to Wicks Lane.
4)         Birch Road (entire block).
5)         Cedar Road from dead-end west of Hempstead Avenue to Hanson Place.

Dear Homeowner:

National Grid is scheduled to begin a project to upgrade the natural gas system beginning the week of July 6, 2009 at the locations shown above.  The duration of the project will be approximately 45 business days.  Once complete, this project will improve the performance and reliability of the gas system.

If you currently use natural gas, minimal upgrade work to your gas meter and service piping may be required.  Access to your home is minimally required to relight appliances.  If your gas meter is located inside your house, four (4) hours will be required to perform the minimum upgrade work.  Our subcontractor, Network Infrastructure, Inc., will be performing all gas main and service piping work.  The subcontractor will contact you directly or you may contact the subcontractor at (516) 385-3030, ext. 118 to make an appointment for your required service work.

All roadways and driveways will be accessible during the term of the project.  Within sixty (60) days of gas work completion, all temporarily restored roadway, sidewalk, and grass openings will be permanently restored.
