The Village Attorney is responsible for advising the Mayor and the Board of Trustees on issues such as the approval of contracts, labor issues, zoning questions and administrative matters, as well as hearings pertaining to special use exceptions for the Architectural Review Board.
Likewise, the responsibility includes drafting local laws as required. Since his appointment in 2011, Mr. Gentile has assisted in revising the Building Code and the Vehicle and Traffic Law with the desire to recodify the entire code soon, with access on this website.
Mr. Gentile is a former Assistant District Attorney in Nassau County, an adjunct professor at St. John’s University, a former President of the Nassau County Criminal Courts Bar Association and a member of the Municipal Law Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association. He has been a trial and appellate litigator with the firm of Frankie & Gentile, P.C. for more than three decades.
