Mayor Sullivan and the Village Board, joined by Assemblyman Brian Curran, were proud to honor long-time Malverne resident, Artie Raymond at our Arbor Day ceremony this morning.
An oak tree was dedicated to Artie and his wife Mary for nearly 70 years of residency, dedication and friendship to the Village of Malverne.
Artie passed away on Feb 28th at 100 years old. He was involved in countless Village organizations and was best known for his beautiful paintings depicting memorable landmarks throughout Malverne.
Artie was an incredible man and World War II Veteran. The Village is truly honored to dedicate this oak tree in memory of Artie’s wonderful life.
Special thanks to the Malverne Historical & Preservation Society for such a wonderful ceremony and showcase of Artie’s beautiful artwork and thanks to our Tree & Beautification Committee as well as our Department of Public Works for the planting of the oak tree.
